Grade 9 marks the beginning of a four-year cycle that leads to graduation in Grade 12 and internationally recognized university entrance qualifications. In addition to preparing our Secondary students for a High School Diploma, our courses also equip them for success in national exams and a wide range of internationally recognized standardized examinations, including the American-based Advanced Placement® (AP®) and SAT exams, as well as the British-based International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). This gives our students the opportunity to be admitted to top universities worldwide.
U.S. Recognized High School Diploma
SIS-Astana’s High School Diploma, like in all schools across the SABIS® Network, is accepted by colleges and universities around the world.
The College Board Advanced Placement® (AP®)
The AP® program is an option available to SIS-Astana students. The AP® is offered by the College Board in the U.S. and is taken by almost 2.5 million students worldwide. AP® exams fulfill entrance requirements at universities in the U.S., Europe, and worldwide.
The College Board Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT)
The SAT is a standardized test administered by the College Board. The SAT is integrated into our Secondary curriculum and enables our students to meet university-readiness requirements in the U.S., Canada, Turkey, Europe, and globally.
International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE)
At SIS-Astana, we offer our students in grades 10 and 11 the opportunity to take IGCSE examinations. These exams are offered by Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) in the U.K. Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) is reputed to be the world’s largest provider of international qualifications for students aged 14-19. IGCSEs are recognized by leading universities and employers worldwide and are seen as an international passport to progression and success.
